UFC veteran Jake Shields reacted to a headline alleging that a Chinese woman's iPhone mistook her for her co-worker.

In October 2018, Shields' last MMA fight took place under the PFL banner when Ray Cooper III knocked him out in round one. The American jiu-jitsu practitioner remained active by competing in submission grappling, with his last match being a flying armbar defeat against Renato Canuto at 3CG 8.

Shields has since focused on growing his social media platforms, leading to over 750,000 X followers. The 45-year-old posts various content to gain traction, including memes, reactions to controversial topics and political stances.

Earlier this week, the former MMA fighter re-posted a screenshot of an article by 'LADbible' that featured the following headline:

How many times did Jake Shields fight in the UFC?

Jake Shields fought in several high-profile promotions, including Pancrase, EliteXC, Strikeforce, UFC, WSOF and PFL.

In October 2010, Shields made his UFC debut with a professional MMA record of 25-4-1. The California native began his Octagon tenure with a split decision win against Martin Kampmann. As a result, the American grappler received a welterweight title shot against pound-for-pound king Georges St-Pierre.

Unfortunately for Shields, St-Pierre shut down his attack and retained his world title by unanimous decision. Five months later, he suffered another setback after a 53-second knockout loss against Jake Ellenberger.

Shields' next three fights, not counting a no-contest against Ed Herman, proved why he belonged in the promotion. The Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu affiliate scored wins against the following opponents - Yoshihiro Akiyama (unanimous decision), Tyron Woodley (split decision) and Demian Maia (split decision).

In March 2014, Shields fought under the UFC banner for the last time in a unanimous decision loss against Hector Lombard. He later parted ways with the promotion after establishing a 4-3 record, including the one no-contest.

Shields retired with a professional MMA record of 33-11-1. During his impressive career, the California native defeated Carlos Condit, Paul Daley, Robbie Lawler, Jason Miller, Dan Henderson, Woodley and Maia.
