A UFC veteran recently called out Elon Musk because of his platform, X. Specifically, the former UFC welterweight was gutted by X's inability to prevent the alleged Destiny and Nick Fuentes controversy from spreading it.
Musk tried to promote free speech by imposing well-judged guidelines for content moderation on X. He also made several changes after taking over X (formerly Twitter) in July 2023. However, Musk restoring Donald Trump's previously banned account in 2022 clarified that he would take some big steps to make X a more open platform.
However, the former UFC welterweight, Jake Shields, was gutted to find the controversial male intimacy video on X which allegedly featured the video streamer Destiny (Steven Kenneth Bonnell II) and the right-wing commentator, Nick Fuentes. Many pointed out that the alleged video could be from a 2022 meetup between the two for a discussion amidst Destiny's live streams.
Shields questioned Musk how X's improved guidelines could allow the circulation of such content. His X update read:

"I’m extremely upset @elonmusk. I was looking at my comments and I saw a video of Destiny blowing a man. Why the fuck is this allowed on X? I now have that disgusting imagine [image] stuck in my head"
Elon Musk on reinstating Donald Trump's X account
Donald Trump's X account was blocked in January 2021 after posting statements in ties with riots outside the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
But Elon Musk brought Trump's account back to the platform after acquiring the majority stakes by the last quarter of 2022. During his appearance on episode no. 2223 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the SpaceX boss also revealed why he opted to do so. Musk said:
"When they [the X authorities] de-platformed Trump, that was insane. And the things he was posting, like, he was posting good things. [Like] Hey, do not riot, do not do any destruction of property, please stay calm, that’s the things he was posting. And then they [the X authorities] say that it's some sort of dog-whistling. He actually means the opposite."
