Former UFC welterweight contender Jake Shields reacted to Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson and Kevin Holland falling out on the JAXXON PODCAST. Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson was scared of facing Igor Vovchanchyn during his PRIDE days
Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson was feared by most of his opponents due to his knockout power. However, the former UFC lightheavyweight champion was also scared of an individual before fighting him.
During his time with Pride in Japan, 'Rampage' disclosed he was afraid to fight Igor Vovchanchyn at Pride 22. During an episode of JAXXON PODCAST with former UFC heavyweight contender Alaister Overeem, the American native revealed he handed a note to Igor Vovchanchyn which helped him calm his nerves:
"I remember the first time I was scared when I had to fight Igor Vovchanchyn, and I gave him that note... Yeah, I cracked his ribs [in that fight]... I gave him a note before I fought... I said, 'My mama said, don't knock me out'. And he read it upside down... And that's what relaxed me, when I gave him the note and he actually tried to read it."
