Gilbert Burns showcased his excitement for Elon Musk being appointed to a government position by Donald Trump.

On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th U.S. President during the official inauguration. Many high-profile public figures and politicians helped Trump win the recent election, including Elon Musk, Robert Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Most of them hoped Trump would assign them a role to help improve the government. Earlier today, he revealed how Musk and Ramaswamy will help:

"I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency ("DOGE"). Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies..."

UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns responded to Trump's Twitter post with excitement:

"🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽"

Burns has fought in the UFC 23 times since his first appearance in July 2014, leading to a promotional record of 15-8. The 38-year-old is coming off three consecutive losses, including a unanimous decision defeat against Sean Brady in his last Octagon appearance (September 7).

Donald Trump voices excitement for Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to make "life better for all Americans"

Elon Musk was a significant contributor to Donald Trump's 2024 Presidential election campaign. The CEO of Tesla continuously voiced his concern for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris winning the race, which seemed to relate to many U.S. citizens considering the final result.

During the previously mentioned announcement, Trump had this to say about Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy's new role in the government:

"I look forward to Elon and Vivek making changes to the Federal Bureaucracy with an eye of efficiency and, at the same time, making life better for all Americans."

Musk's interest in government efficiency has drawn comparisons to his purchase of X, formerly known as Twitter. Once Musk owned the social media platform, he fired a majority of the employees that he claimed weren't doing a good job or weren't needed to succeed.
