Mackenzie Dern dominated Angela Hill for 25 minutes in the main event of UFC Vegas 73. Dern's dominant unanimous decision victory over Hill on the basis of 49-43, 49-44, and 49-44 scores reflected a well-rounded performance and a renewed zest in her approach.
Dern's previous fight inside the octagon ended in a majority decision loss against Yan Xiaonan. It was later revealed that she was in the midst of divorce proceedings and a management change at the time of the fight.
Mackenzie Dern entered the octagon with renewed vigor, having had time to cope with the challenges outside the octagon and thoroughly prepare for her forthcoming bout. She looked like an improved version of herself and was able to completely demolish Angela Hill.

Mackenzie Dern calls out Rose Namajunas following emphatic victory over Angela Hill at UFC Vegas 73
Mackenzie Dern put the UFC women's strawweight division on notice with a unanimous decision victory over Angela Hill.
Dern was aggressive in her approach from the beginning, and she finished the fight the same way, pressuring Hill with an all-out assault on the feet and the ground to secure an emphatic unanimous decision victory. One judge scored the bout 49-43, awarding Dern three 10-8 rounds, while the other two judges scored it 49-44 for Dern.
Dern was asked who she would like to challenge next following the victory in the post-fight octagon interview. While she expressed interest in a rematch with Yan Xiaonan, she also set her sights on former women's 115-pound champion Rose Namajunas:
"Man, I don't know what's Rose upto, you know? But if she's interested in fighting, I'd like to fight Rose... Maybe revenge with Yan. So, I mean, we've all kind of fought almost everyone but I never fought an ex-champion. I feel I can have that opportunity now. So yeah, Rose, Yan, someone in thee top 10, top five."
