Gregory Rodrigues' spot at UFC 283 was in jeopardy after his opponent Brad Taveres pulled out of the scheduled fight. The UFC has now found a replacement opponent for Rodrigues, according to the latest report by MMA Fighting.
'Robocop' announced earlier this week in an interview with SuperBook Sports that Tavares has pulled out of the scheduled bout. Multiple sources have now confirmed that undefeated Dana White Contender Series alumni Brunno Ferreira will replace Brad Tavares on short notice. No contracts have been inked as of yet.
On September 20, Ferreira announced his arrival with a spectacular debut performance against Leon Aliu in Dana White's Contender Series. Ferreira secured the coveted UFC contract with a first-round knockout victory. All nine of the Curitiba native's victories (six KO/TKO and three submissions) have come by finishes.

Rodrigues confirmed the fight via Instagram stories and stated that his objective remains unchanged despite the change in opponent:
"I'm still on the mission! Let's go."
Gregory Rodrigues, a former Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) middleweight champion and eight-time National BJJ champion, made his UFC debut against Dusko Todorovic in June 2021. He won the bout by unanimous decision.
He was last seen in the octagon against Chidi Njokuani at UFC Vegas 60 in September last year. It took Rodrigues a while to recover from an early onslaught and a severe gash on the face before he was able to finish Njokuani in the second round. The promising middleweight prospect has earned two 'Performance of the Night' and one 'Fight of the Night' accolades in five UFC bouts.

When Israel Adesanya expressed an interest in fighting Gregory Rodrigues
UFC Vegas 60's co-main event featured Gregory Rodrigues against Chidi Njokuani. There were some spectacular battles, impressive performances, and horrifying cuts at the event. However, none of them compared to the horrible cut on Gregory Rodrigues's forehead that he received during his fight with Njokuani.
In the opening round, Njokuani gave Rodrigues a scary cut between his eyebrows with a perfectly planted knee. 'Robocop' rallied to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat via technical knockout in round two.
Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya gave Rodrigues his well-deserved props and claimed that he would like to test his skills against 'Robocop' (via: BS with Jake Paul):
“A good fighter actually I want to fight is the guy that – he kind of just fought not too long ago, ‘Robocop’ is his name. He’s a Brazilian guy. He had that gash, you cannot forget that gash. He had that cut. That guy. He’s solid, he’s a good fight. No beef, no nothing. I just think he’s going to come up to the top and I’d like to test myself against a guy like that.”
