Bantamweight fighter Farid Basharat has received a date for his UFC debut fight. 'Ferocious' will compete on the UFC 285 card, which is scheduled to take place on March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
The 25-year-old will take on Da'Mon Blackshear in a 135-pound scrap, which was first reported by MMA Junkie's Nolan King and later confirmed by Basharat on Instagram.
Basharat appeared in the sixth season of Dana White's Contender Series, taking on Allan Begosso. The fight went the 15-minute distance and ended with a unanimous decision victory for 'Ferocious'.

Basharat is currently 9-0 as a professional fighter, with six of those wins coming via finishes.
Farid Basharat's brother, Javid Basharat, is already competing in the UFC. 'The Snow Leopard' made his promotional debut in March this year, taking on Trevin Jones in a bantamweight scrap. He won the fight via unanimous decision, with 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 scorecards in his favor.
What made the win ever more special was the fact that both Basharat brothers competed that night and both emerged victorious.
After his victory, Javid mentioned that his brother was also competing on the same night at the War of Titans 2 event in Spain. 'The Snow Leopard' said that he was unaware of the outcome of his brother's fight:
"My brother fought on the same night as me, March 12. I don't even know the result. I was warming up, we were fighting at the same time. So, can somebody tell me who won?"
Paul Felder surprised him with the good news that Farid had also won his respective fight that night:
"I got the results for you right now. You wanna know? Are you sure? Well, he started with a head kick and then got the rear-naked choke victory. So, it's a good night for both of you guys tonight."

Raul Rosas Jr. from Dana White's Contender Series Season 6 made his debut at UFC 282
One notable fighter from this year's Dana White's Contender Series who recently made his UFC debut is 18-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. 'El Nino Problema' took on Jay Perrin in the featured prelim of UFC 282 this past weekend.
Rosas Jr. used his grappling skills to overwhelm Perrin and submit him with a rear-naked choke in the opening round of the fight. He also took home a Performance of the Night bonus worth $50,000.
With his debut, Rosas Jr. became the youngest fighter to compete and win in the multi-billion dollar promotion. If the 18-year-old continues to impress the MMA community like he did on December 10, the future looks bright for him.
