The MMA world mostly see two sides to UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira: the social media jokester and the two-fisted killer inside the octagon. However, there's a more serious and admirable nature to 'Poatan' that the cameras don't always see - his philanthropic side.
In a video posted on a Reddit channel dedicated to UFC content, fans saw the 205-pound champion's humanitarian efforts in his home country of Brazil. As it turns out, Alex Pereira is "constantly" donating food, water, and medicine to the poor. Talk about being a champion of the people.
Here's a screenshot of the post with the caption:
"Most people abroad don't know, but Poatan is constantly donating tons and tons (literally) of food, water and medications to poor people in Brazil. CHAMA!!! (this music is trash tho lmao)"

Jiri Prochazka weighs in on Magomed Ankalaev's chances against Alex Pereira
At the moment, there's strong speculation that Alex Pereira's next challenger will be No. 1-ranked contender Magomed Ankalaev. Fans are also strongly believing that the Dagestani wrestling specialist may pose the greatest threat to Pereira's reign.
To shed more light on this, ex-UFC light heavyweight king and a former opponent of 'Poatan', Jiri Prochazka, gave his two cents on Ankalaev's chances. As it turns out, the Czech former champion isn't giving the Dagestani much.
Veteran MMA journalist Ariel Helwani asked Prochazka if Ankalaev has any hope of defeating the almighty 'Poatan'. Prochazka replied:
"I think, no. Especially if he [Ankalaev] fights - like he said - just in stand-up. Sorry, no. If Alex [Pereira] will be in his shape like what he showed in his last fight, 100% no."
Prochazka faced Pereira twice for the title - and twice he was knocked out by the heavy-handed Brazilian.
If Ankalaev chooses to stand and bang with the champ, perhaps he should heed the Czech's warning and just don't.
