Renowned MMA coach and UFC veteran James Krause held nothing back while cornering his fighter Mana Martinez at the UFC Vegas 62 prelims. Krause's unrestrained pep talk was caught on camera going into the third round of Martinez's closely contested clash against Brandon Davis.
Krause reprimanded 'Manaboi' for "f***ing around" despite having seriously hurt his opponent. With just five minutes left before the final bell, the Glory MMA head coach wanted his fighter to follow his instructions. Krause told Martinez:
"Do you understand what I'm saying? You're f***ing around too much. This is your fight to win. You've hurt him like 3 times now and you're f***ing around. Let's go. Stay sharp here. You, look at me m*****f***er. Don't you f***ing walk out of here tonight unless you f***ing win this fight. Do you understand me? I don't care, it's five f***ing minutes. When I tell you to press him, you f***ing press him. Do you understand me? Don't you let him walk out of here with this goddamn fight. Do you hear me? Do you understand? Let's f***ing go!"

Martinez dropping Davis with a spinning back fist in the closing seconds of round 2 was probably the biggest moment of the fight. Apart from that, both fighters went toe-to-toe over three rounds with 'Manaboi' reeling in a split-decision victory.
James Krause opened his doors to Mana Martinez at a crucial juncture
Mana Martinez earned a split-decision win over Guido Cannetti in his UFC debut in August 2021. It was an emotional victory for Martinez, whose longtime coach Saul Soliz had passed away due to COVID-19 complications just 11 days before the bout.
But 'Manaboi' wasn't left without a trainer as former UFC fighter and acclaimed coach James Krause gave him a call. Martinez left behind the comfort of his hometown of Houston and joined the Glory MMA squad in Missouri.
Martinez's first outing under James Krause's guidance ended in a unanimous decision loss to Ronny Lawrence at UFC 271, ending his three-fight win streak. However, the 26-year-old is now back in the win column.
