In the aftermath of the incident, Diaz was escorted out of the venue by the police during Jake Paul's walkout for his main event fight against Silva.

The Stockton native has in the past shown interest in a possible boxing match with the young YouTuber-turned-boxer. With the 37-year-old having ended his UFC contract earlier in September, such a match-up is a possibility.

Once Diaz became a free agent, Paul also posted a video to his social media suggesting that the UFC legend should fight him next. Perhaps this backstage brawl is a prelude to bigger things to come.

Paul holds wins against the likes of former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and former Bellator champion Ben Askren. He currently has four knockout wins on his resume. Earlier today, he clinched a unanimous decision over Anderson Silva to extend his pro record to 6-0.

According to BoxRec, Diaz only has one fight in the pro boxing ranks. In his debut bout in 2005 against Alfonso Rocha, the Stockton native secured a unanimous decision win.

When Jake Paul praised Nate Diaz calling him a legend

Earlier this September, when news broke that UFC veteran Nate Diaz was going into free agency after officially completing his contract with the American MMA promotion, Jake Paul praised the 37-year-old saying that he was a true legend.

The 25-year-old tweeted that Diaz would have triumphed over Khamzat Chimaev if the fight had happened:

"Nate Diaz is a muthuf****n legend and would have slapped the shit out of Khamzat."

In his final fight in the UFC, although Diaz was scheduled to fight Khamzat Chimaev, the 37-year-old ended up fighting former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson after the Chechen-born Swede missed weight by 7.5 pounds.

Diaz closed out his UFC contract with an impressive fourth-round submission victory over 'El Cucuy'.
