Fellow fighters can borrow a leaf out of Alexander Volkanovski's book on tackling seemingly disrespectful questions with grace. The Australian has cemented his reputation as an exemplary figure in the sport and the recent interaction with a fan was a reminder of why.
Volkanovski joined Michael Bisping and Michael 'Venom' Page at the UFC 304 Q&A session, fielding questions from fans ahead of the pay-per-view showcase on July 27 at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England.
During the interaction, a fan posed a stinging question, asking Volkanovski about the experience of the head-kick knockout loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 294. 'The Great' seemed unfazed by the question and reacted with class, saying:
"It felt real good... Wait, wait, wait! What head kick? I don't remember a thing... What happened? I got head kicked?"

At UFC 294, Volkanovski traveled to Abu Dhabi on 10 days' notice to step in as a replacement to take on Makhachev after Charles Oliveira withdrew from the fight.
The Australian was perhaps confident that he could pull off a sensational victory having strained Makhachev's abilities to the fullest during their first encounter at UFC 284. However, the plan backfired, as Volkanovski succumbed to a thunderous left head kick loss in the first round.
Alex Volkanovski reacts to Ilia Topuria's claim that Max Holloway was "forced" to fight him
Ilia Topuria recently claimed that his first title defense is booked, asserting that the UFC matchmakers “forced” Max Holloway to accept a fight.
The Spaniard knocked out long-reigning 145-pound king Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 to claim the featherweight throne. Following that win, Topuria and Holloway have been going back and forth, with 'El Matador' asserting that the fight is being delayed because of the challenger's reluctance to face him.
However, Volkanovski isn't buying into Topuria's comments. Speaking in an interview with MMA Fighting, he said:
"Let’s be real, you’re not forcing Max to fight. think it’s common knowledge that Max wants to fight him and I think he wanted to fight him sooner rather than later. There’s holdups. I’m pretty sure there’s holdups, and I don’t think it’s on Max. I’m not trying to pick sides, I’m just stating facts. I’ve got nothing against Ilia, but you’re not forcing Max in this one. Let’s be real.”
