"W fight", "I see fireworks" - Fans react as Giga Chikadze vs. David Onama gets booked for UFC Fight Night on April 5 at UFC Apex

MMA fans recently voiced their thoughts after learning about a Giga Chikadze vs. David Onama encounter being fixed for the UFC Fight Night event. It was also announced that the fight will go down at the UFC Apex on April 5.

Chikadze failed to earn a UFC contract due to a loss against Austin Springer in the 2018 season of the Dana White's Contender Series. But his exciting strike-heavy fighting style didn't let the UFC brass ignore him for long, as he made his promotional debut with a victory over Brandon Davis in September 2019.

Currently, he holds a commendable 8-2 record in the UFC. However, the Georgian hasn't been on the best of runs recently. Both his defeats came within his last three fights. Chikadze also lost his last encounter against Arnold Allen via a unanimous decision at UFC 304 in July 2024.

A recent X update from @Home_of_Fight revealed that Chikadze will get the opportunity to revamp his winning run on April 5 against David Onama. Its caption read:

A plethora of fans revealed their excitement about watching Chikadze in action again in the comments section of the update. One of them penned:

Giga Chikadze's fighting style is heavily influenced by karate. His unique striking capabilities rapidly boosted his popularity among fans since his entry into the UFC. The 36-year-old featherweight also has a few unique weapons in his arsenal, making his style a tough one to read.
