Walter Goncalves is hungry for a victory that will see him finally return to the win column after a tough run of results.

This kind of back-against-the-wall mentality makes a competitor like the Brazilian incredibly dangerous. On his return at ONE 169 in Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 8, Goncalves is set to make a big change in his career by moving down to the strawweight Muay Thai division.

He will face off with Aliff Sor Dechapan at Lumpinee Stadium in a fight that is sure to be an exciting clash of styles. When looking at where he believes he holds the advantage in this fight, Walter Goncalves says that his will to win is a big factor in this fight.

Speaking to ONE Championship, Goncalves said that chasing victory with all of his will, along with his heavy hands, will be key on his return:

"I believe that my biggest advantage in this fight will be my power, as well as my striking and my desire to win again. I really need it, and I will come out of this fight with the victory."

Walter Goncalves has had a tough run at flyweight

Ahead of his strawweight debut at ONE 169, Walter Goncalves hasn't got his hand raised in his last three outings.

That being said, the stats alone do not do his career justice because everything makes more sense when you look at the opposition that he has been facing.

Some of his losses under the ONE Championship banner have come to the likes of Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9, two of the very best in the world.

Suffering defeats to world champions isn't a major red flag but that being said, Goncalves does need to get another win under his belt if he wants to remain competitive regardless of the weight division he's fighting in.
