John Lineker is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who is currently fighting for ONE Championship and was a former champion. Lineker previously fought in the UFC but never won a title.
He made his UFC debut in 2012 and missed weight in his first fight. This was a habit he notoriously continued throughout his MMA career. He lost his debut fight against Louis Gaudinot via submission.
The Brazilian had a very topsy turvy career in the UFC, and the closest he came to the title was in 2014 when he fought Ali Bagautinov in a flyweight title eliminator. He ended up losing the fight and never got to challenge for the title. Towards the end of his career in the UFC, he ended up fighting some of the biggest names in the Bantamweight division but failed to perform against any of them.

In 2016, he fought the two-time bantamweight world champion TJ Dillashaw at UFC 207 Amanda Nunes vs. Ronda Rousey. The pair fought on the undercard, John Lineker took Dillashaw the distance and 'Lieutenant Dan' won the fight via unanimous decision. Following that fight, he took a long break and fought almost a year later against Marlon Vera in 2017, securing a unanimous decision victory.
His last fight in the UFC came back in 2019 when he fought Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fight Night. Sandhagen was in control of the fight in the early rounds, but John Lineker made a late surge that scared the American. However, the work he did in the earlier rounds helped 'The Sandman' secure a split-decision victory.
John Lineker gets stripped of One Championship title
John Lineker missed weight for the fifth time in his career for his first title defense of the One Championship Bantamweight title. The Brazilian won the belt in March this year when he fought Bibiano Fernandes and knocked the former champion out in the second round. He then looked to fight Fabricio Andrade on October 22 in his first title defense.
Take a look at the video:
The Brazilian missed weight and was stripped off his title, but the fight still went ahead. To make matters worse, in his fight against Andrade his right eye swole up and shut completely. Then he got hit in the groin so hard that his cup broke. Fabricio Andrade was eligible to win the title, but could not do so as the fight ended in a no contest due to his accidental strike to the groin.
