The amateur MMA bout took place at an FCC (Full Contact Contender) Juniors event, namely FCC Juniors 1 last December. FCC is based in the UK and is an MMA league that's featured on UFC Fight Pass, a subscription-based video streaming service owned by the UFC.
The FCC Juniors event featured several children competing in amateur MMA bouts. One of those bouts was that of Albie King and Finn Pearce. Both fighters were eight years old at the time, with King weighing in at 31.4 kilograms and Pearce weighing in at 32 kilograms.
Their fight witnessed King come out aggressively with his strikes, landing punches, and kicks, while Pearce fought back with strikes of his own. However, King soon clinched with his opponent and latched on to a kimura hold. He then dropped to the mat, craftily secured the tap, and emerged victorious via first-round submission.

When UFC icon Khabib Nurmagomedov seemingly changed his stance on child MMA
Certain sections of the MMA community generally praise Albie King and other such child MMA fighters for their skills and courage. Nevertheless, many others believe that children mustn't be allowed to compete in MMA fights, even if the fights are contested under amateur MMA rules.
Back in 2017, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was then a UFC lightweight contender, criticized child MMA. This surprised many as Nurmagomedov had previously spoken out in support of Chechnyan leader Ramzan Kadyrov after the latter was criticized for organizing child MMA fights in Chechnya, Russia, in 2016.
MMA journalist Karim Zidan tweeted regarding the same in 2016, as seen below, and lambasted Khabib Nurmagomedov for supporting children's MMA.
However, in 2017, as reported by pravda-news.ru, Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke out against children's MMA. Highlighting the concussions and injuries that 4oz MMA gloves could cause, 'The Eagle' opined that children shouldn't be subjected to it.
Karim Zidan put forth a Twitter thread documenting the same. One of Zidan's notable tweets about Nurmagomedov's changed stance concerning child MMA, read as follows:
"Khabib Nurmagomedov has come out against child MMA. Says should be barred for those “under the age of 20.” Interesting given recent events."
