ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo didn't appreciate the disrespect Francisco Lo showed during their face-off ahead of their catchweight submission grappling bout at ONE Fight Night 21 in April 2024 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ruotolo was pushed by Lo a day before their fight, and their animosity against each other started to boil. ONE Championship recently looked back at this whole drama and buildup before the match on Instagram, and they captioned the video with:
"The heat was real! 🔥 Watch Kade Ruotolo's thrilling submission grappling war with Francisco Lo! 🙌 @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu"

The one-half of the famous Ruotolo twins made sure to make the Brazilian debutant pay for what he did against him, as he dominated him in their showdown.
Ruotolo immediately controlled the match from the full guard, constantly attacking him with various submission techniques with his all-offense approach, and eventually willed his way into a rear-naked choke finish in under five minutes.
This victory has improved the 21-year-old American's ONE Championship record to 6-0 with two submissions. Since that win, Ruotolo has successfully transitioned to MMA and won his first two fights by submitting Blake Cooper and Ahmed Mujtaba.
Kade Ruotolo thanks Brazilian coaches and friends for their massive influence on his life
Following his second MMA victory at ONE 169, the Atos representative talked about how Brazil has a chunk of influence on his life, especially as a martial artist. Ruotolo thanked his Brazilian friends and coaches who helped him achieve his current status as one of the fastest-rising stars in combat sports.
Ruotolo shared this during the post-event conference of the card, as he stated:
"I've got so much love for Brazil. 'Tamo juntos'. A lot of my friends, teammates, a lot of my mentors, obviously most Brazilians growing up, [have] such a massive influence on my life as far as jiu-jitsu. It's pretty much the biggest part of me. Massive. Thank you to all the Brazilian supporters and fans and all the fans around the world. Muito obrigado."
