Aung La N Sang's crowning glory as a then two-division MMA world champion happened in February 2018 at ONE: Quest for Gold, which took place in front of his home crowd at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
Aung La was pitted against Alexandre Machado for the vacant ONE light heavyweight MMA world title. His winning moment was relived by ONE Championship via a recent Instagram video:

'The Burmese Python', who then also held the ONE middleweight MMA world title, set up a beautiful head kick by faking a punch to drop the guard of the Brazilian powerhouse. Aung La landed the kick on the side of his head, and despite his best effort to block it, the power was too much for Machado to handle.
That kick sent the Brazilian down the canvas, and the Kill Cliff FC representative immediately went for the finish via the ground-and-pound to officially become a two-division world champion, which sent the arena into a frenzy.
Aung La returns on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver against Shamil Erdogan
After over a year away from action, Aung La will make his much-awaited return on September 6 as part of the stacked ONE 168: Denver card. There, he'll square off against Shamil Erdogan in a middleweight MMA contest inside the Ball Arena in Colorado.
The former two-division world champion aims to stretch his win streak to four after previously beating Yushin Okami in November 2022 at ONE 163, Gilberto Galvao in January 2023 at ONE Fight Night 6, and most recently Fan Rong in May 2023 at ONE Fight Night 10.
ONE 168: Denver will transpire from the Ball Arena in U.S. primetime on Sept. 6. Tickets for the event are available on Ticketmaster.
