ONE Championship mainstay Adriano Moraes had one of the best performances of his career when he spectacularly defended the ONE flyweight MMA world championship against MMA GOAT contender Demetrious Johnson in April 2021.
Midway through the second round, 'Mighty Mouse' made a crucial mistake that opened him up for an uppercut from Moraes. As he swarmed the American star, Moraes fired a massive knee to put him away via knockout - the first knockout loss in Johnson's illustrious career.

The AMC Pankration and Evolve MMA star poetically dethroned the then-flyweight MMA king in their August 2022 rematch with a flying knee knockout. They would run it back for a third time in May 2023 at ONE Fight Night 10, where Johnson defended his crown via unanimous decision.
ONE fans have not seen 'Mikinho' fight since then, though the long wait will come to an end at ONE 169: Atlanta on November 8 when he takes on Filipino star Danny Kingad inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Adriano Moraes' history with Danny Kingad
Respectively ranked first and third in the flyweight MMA division, Adriano Moraes and Danny Kingad have fought once before in November 2017 at ONE: Legends of the World.
Despite Kingad's best efforts to dethrone the American Top Team and Constrictor Team product, the then-reigning ONE flyweight MMA king worked his way toward a first-round submission of the Filipino spitfire.
Kingad, now training out of Lions Nation MMA, took that loss to heart and translated it into eight victories in 11 outings to cement his long-awaited rematch with Moraes.
With both men hoping to soon challenge Demetrious Johnson for the ONE flyweight MMA world championship, whoever wins at ONE 169: Atlanta on November 8 inside the State Farm Arena might be one step closer to that goal.
Tickets for ONE 169: Atlanta are available via Ticketmaster.
