ONE Fight Night 24 delivered an action-packed night of fights last Friday, August 2, and Elias Mahmoudi made the most out of his opportunity against Taiki Naito in their flyweight kickboxing bout.
The fifth-ranked flyweight kickboxer caught 'The Silent Sniper' off-guard with a spinning backfist in round one, resulting in the first knockdown of the fight, but Naito was able to continue fighting.
Mahmoudi decided to keep the pressure on and ultimately starched the third-ranked flyweight kickboxer with another spinning backfist for the knockout win with seconds to spare in the final frame.

With this performance, the Algerian star improved his record to 4-2 and earned his second-straight finish in ONE after his blistering first-round TKO against Edgar Tabares last year.
Additionally, 'The Sniper' received a $50,000 performance bonus as revealed by ONE commentator Mitch Chilson in the post-fight interview.
Elias Mahmoudi inches closer to dream of challenging for ONE Championship gold
After posting back-to-back finishes, Elias Mahmoudi has taken a big step towards his ultimate goal of challenging Rodtang Jitmuangnon for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai crown.
Mahmoudi, who is also the fifth-ranked fighter in the flyweight Muay Thai division, said as much in an interview with ONE Championship ahead of ONE Fight Night 24:
"After this fight [with Naito], I would like to fight in Muay Thai against Denis Puric so when I win, I can have a chance to face Rodtang Jitmuangnon for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title. But that does not depend on me. It is the organization who has the last word."
