WATCH: Algerian star Elias Mahmoudi goes berserk in overwhelming finish of Mexico's Edgar Tabares

ONE Championship is filled with world-class athletes and multi-time Muay Thai champion Elias Mahmoudi fits the bill. Making his promotional debut in 2019, Mahmoudi showed fans that he would not back down from any opponent and proved it in his most recent outing.

'The Sniper' went toe-to-toe with Mexican star Edgar Tabares at ONE Fight Night 13 in August 2023 which had no shortage of action.

Mahmoudi scored big with two quick knockdowns in under one minute and soon overwhelmed Tabares with massive knee strikes to send him back to the mat, invoking the three-knockdown rule for the TKO victory.

This performance gave the Algerian star his third win in five forays inside the circle to bounce back strongly from his majority decision defeat to Mongkolpetch Petchyindee in 2021.

Elias Mahmoudi will be looking to keep his momentum going as he takes on the ever-dangerous Taiki Naito in a flyweight kickboxing bout at ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2.

Just like the Mahmoudi Gym product, 'Silent Sniper' is not one to shy away from throwing a barrage of strikes against his opponents to keep them on the back foot.

He holds a record of 7-5 in ONE and has faced ONE world champions Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Haggerty.

Naito and Mahmoudi have similar approaches to their fights and it will all come down to who can implement their respective game plans better inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
