Jerome opened the match aggressively, but Lessei halted the Canadian’s momentum with a perfectly timed left kick to the liver, scoring the first knockdown. From there, “The Chef” turned up the heat, dominating the action with clinical body strikes.

Sensing the finish was within reach, Lessei landed a sharp front kick to secure a second knockdown.

While Jerome displayed resilience, he had no answer for the relentless attacks from the 28-year-old. Lessei sealed the deal with a crushing right elbow, earning the third and final knockdown of the round at the 2:00 mark.

The scintillating victory improved Lessei’s professional record to 8-2, with six of those wins coming by way of knockout.

In a post-event interview, he reflected on his road to redemption following a setback against Bampara Kouyate in July 2024, expressing satisfaction with how matters played out at ONE Fight Night 27:

“I feel really happy with my performance. Of course, when I watch it back, there are always going to be little things that I want to make look better, but taking the fight in as a whole, everything went to plan.”

Luke Lessei earns additional $50,000 with a stunning victory

Luke Lessei’s stellar performance earned him a $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

He plans to bring the extra cash back home to Dubuque, Iowa, where he looks forward to celebrating with his family:

“I got two kids back home in Iowa, so it's going to put a lot of food on their table, you know. And my daughter's birthday is next month, so I'm definitely going to give her a good birthday.”
