Current ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion Tye Ruotolo is one of the most friendly and fun people to be around. However, when it's time for fighting, he turns up the switch and shows no mercy against his opponents.
One solid proof of that is when he fought Dagi Arslanaliev in a catchweight submission grappling match in August 2023 at ONE Fight Night 13 in front of the Lumpinee Stadium crowd in Bangkok, Thailand, and ONE Championship reposted Ruotolo's win on Instagram with the caption:
"He tapped TWICE 😬 Who should Tye Ruotolo face next? @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu"

The short clip highlighted the cordial approach of the 21-year-old American phenom with the Russian during the face-off. He even playfully offered him a razor and shaving cream to Dagi to make their faceoff even more amusing.
However, when they squared up inside the ring, Tye was relentless with his attack until he forced a tap out of the lightweight MMA contender not only once, but twice during a span of sequence.
The first tap was from a leg lock, but the referee didn't acknowledge it, so the Atos representative went for a rear-naked choke to officially wrap the match in stunning fashion.
Tye Ruotolo keeps his record intact against Jozef Chen at ONE Fight Night 23
Ruotolo extended his unbeaten streak in the world's largest martial arts organization to seven after he beat Jozef Chen via unanimous decision in his last outing at ONE Fight Night 23 in July 2024.
In addition to Chen and Arslanaliev, the BJJ savant has also won over Garry Tonon, Marat Gafurov, Reinier de Ridder, Magomed Abdulkadirov, and Izaak Michell. Tye now awaits his next assignment in the promotion.
