Reinier de Ridder wanted to avenge his loss to Anatoly Malykhin and invited him down the middleweight division to fight for his belt, but he made a huge mistake and suffered the same fate in their second meeting.
Malykhin once again proved that he is on a different level as he stopped de Ridder via a third-round TKO finish, and ONE Championship recently reposted the highlights of this championship rematch on their official Instagram account.
They wrote its caption with:
"When Anatoly Malykhin shut down Reinier de Ridder to become MMA's first three-division World Champion 😤 The baddest man on the planet defends the ONE Heavyweight MMA World Title against Reug Reug at ONE 169! @anmalykhin"

'Sladkiy' has frustrated 'The Dutch Knight' by stopping all his takedown attempts. Although de Ridder had more resistance with his much-improved striking skills this time, Malykhin's power was still too much for him to handle.
Eventually, the former two-division MMA world champion was forced to give up and accept his defeat at the hands of the Russian knockout artist.
This victory has not only crowned Malykhin the new undisputed king of the middleweight division, but he has also made him the first athlete in MMA history to capture three world titles in three different weight classes.
Fellow Russian MMA star Mansu Malachiev expects Anatoly Malykhin to get the win over Oumar Kane at ONE 169
Following his unanimous decision win over Bokang Masunyane at ONE Fight Night 25 last Oct. 4 at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, ranked strawweight MMA contender Mansur Malachiev has forecasted a victory for his fellow Russian Malykhin.
Malachiev shared this during his post-event interview with Nick Atkin, as he explained:
"I'm quite sure that Anatoly will win because he is a machine. He's just on another level. I'm 99 percent sure that Malykhin will win that fight."
