Anyone who’s watched Anatoly Malykhin in action can say with absolute certainty that he’s one of the most entertaining heavyweights in MMA today.

The 34 year-old Russian exudes confidence and a charisma that is unmatched in any other athlete of his caliber. As a natural heavyweight who averages 5 minutes a fight, Malykhin makes it his mission to give fans maximum satisfaction in watching him hammer his way to victory.

Currently holding an undefeated MMA record of 11-0, including a three-fight run under ONE Championship, ‘Sladkiy’ is on his way to achieving a second world title. He is set to challenge two-division king Reinier de Ridder for the light heavyweight crown at ONE on Prime Video 5.

After experiencing a couple of setbacks this year, Anatoly Malykhin is looking forward to challenging an exceptional world champion in Reinier de Ridder.

With the original heavyweight world title holder Arjan Bhullar temporarily out of the picture, Malykhin was presented with an opportunity to hold two belts since the Bhullar fight got canceled last September.

Fans are therefore emotionally invested in Malykhin’s pursuit for double glory. They hope to see the Russian work his magic and hand de Ridder his first loss with another memorable knockout.

North American subscribers can catch all the action live and for free on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, December 2.

Anatoly Malykhin takes note on how to to beat Reinier de Ridder from the De Ridder-Bigdash fight

Anatoly Malykhin has a lot of footage he can peruse through in order to defeat Reinier de Ridder on December 2.

Having trained with TMT teammate Vitaly Bigdash, who recently lost against de Ridder for the middleweight world title back in July, Anatoly Malykhin has a long list of what not to do against the Dutchman.

Bigdash showed a lot of promise ahead of his world title matchup with De Ridder. He’s a highly technical striker and wrestler with a lot of championship experience. So to see him fall in the first round with a rare inverted triangle choke wasn’t what anyone predicted would happen.

Speaking to ONE Championship, ‘Sladkiy’ explained that Bigdash had the perfect game plan but it was the poor decision-making on Bigdash’s part that ultimately led to his end:

“Everything is clear: Reinier De Ridder is one of the most dangerous jiu-jitsu fighters. He is very strong on the ground. Vitaly knew he had to avoid fighting on the ground, that he had to throw punches to the head and to the body."

He added:

"You can see he started the fight this way when De Ridder started pushing forward with his hands down, and then Vitaly rocked him with a punch. Vitaly knew he had to work de Ridder against the cage and try to turn him around.”
