WATCH: Anatoly Malykhin’s son helps prepare him for upcoming world title match at ONE Fight Night 8

ONE interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin is preparing for his world title unification bout — and he's receiving some help from his beloved son Lev.

'Sladkiy' will try to become the undisputed heavyweight king at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video when he faces Canada's Arjan Bhullar, the ONE heavyweight world champion.

Neither Malykhin nor Bhullar have suffered a defeat under the ONE Championship banner, but that will change once they settle the score. The unbeaten Russian mauler attained the interim belt by knocking out Kirill Grishenko in February 2022.

Anatoly Malykhin credits his wife for providing unyielding support throughout his MMA journey

The 35-year-old champion experienced some rough patches throughout his MMA journey, but he claims that his wife Anita provided a newfound surge of energy to help him stay on track.

Malykhin told ONE:

“My wife is the one person that believes in me more than I believe in myself. I had moments in my life where nobody believed in me ... I had a pretty rough past where people would do me dirty, those very close to me, and I [thought about quitting the] sport maybe three or four times."

Anatoly Malykhin added:

"When I met my wife, it was as if there was a new surge of energy. I’ve never felt such newfound drive, ever.”

Malykhin has been lights out since signing with ONE in 2021, picking up four straight knockout victories en route to securing both the undisputed ONE light heavyweight world title and the interim heavyweight strap.

He'll put his precious undefeated record when he faces Arjan Bhullar in a much-anticipated heavyweight world title unification bout.
