At ONE on Prime Video 5, Anatoly Malykhin won the biggest fight of his career to become a double champion in ONE.
Handing the previously undefeated two-weight champion Reinier de Ridder his first loss with a devastating knockout, Malykhin is now the light heavyweight and interim heavyweight world champion.
In a fight that was billed as de Ridder’s grappling versus the power of Malykhin, it was the bigger man who was able to implement his gameplan. Whilst the fight stayed on the feet, the Russian posed a huge threat to the Dutchman and found a home for his power in the last minute of the first round.
Right after his knockout win, the new champion left the cage to embrace ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Whatever happens next, Anatoly Malykhin just announced himself as one of the most dangerous fighters in the world.
ONE on Prime Video 5: Anatoly Malykhin destroys Reinier de Ridder to become a double champion
In the main event of ONE on Prime Video 5, Reinier de Ridder put his light heavyweight world title on the line against interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin. A huge clash between undefeated champions, the fans inside the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila on Friday night were in for a treat.
From the opening bell, both men looked to implement their gameplans. After being met by Malykhin’s power early on, de Ridder looked to grapple his opponent in search of a takedown. When he was unable to get it, Malykhin continued to walk him down and land his power shots on the double champion.
With ‘The Dutch Knight’ seemingly unable to take his opponent down, he was forced into a defensive strategy as he circled away from the Russian.
As the opening round started to wrap up, Malykhin dropped his opponent with a huge overhand right and swarmed him with hammer firsts to get the stoppage with 25 seconds left on the clock.
