ONE 164, headlined by the strawweight world title fight between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks, had a tough task ahead of the event. Following up a stacked ONE on Prime Video show as part of ONE’s double bill in Manila, both cards delivered on their promises.
ONE 164 on Saturday, December 3, featured some great finishes, which were capped off by a changing of the strawweight guard in the main event.

Whilst there were plenty of performances that deserved the spotlight, arguably the most impressive of them all was Jarred Brooks’ strawweight title win. Taking the belt off of previously dominant champion Joshua Pacio, Brooks was able to once again back up all of his talk inside the circle and emerge victorious.
The above video opens with some of the main event's biggest moments, with them all unsurprisingly coming from the challenger.
Whilst his grappling and submission skills were expected to be highlighted in this fight, the most surprising aspect of the contest was how Jarred Brooks was able to outstrike Pacio throughout once he started to mix things up.
Though the threat of his grappling is what won him the fight, the majority of the main event played out on the feet, where Brooks was able to prove that he could defeat Joshua Pacio whenever the fight took place.
Jarred Brooks calls out Demetrious Johnson after strawweight world title win, fans react
On Saturday at ONE 164, Jarred Brooks once again backed up his talk by delivering inside the circle. Picking up the biggest win of his career, ‘The Monkey God’ dethroned Joshua Pacio in dominant fashion.
With a unanimous decision win, Brooks can look to start his own title reign after ending the run of Pacio, who had proven himself to be a dominant champion.
Brooks has been able to dominate all of his opponents at strawweight and that’s led him to already start thinking about facing bigger and more dangerous challenges now that he is champion.
After already respectfully calling for a fight with the flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, Brooks used his post-fight interview to once again talk about the prospect of fighting ‘Mighty Mouse’ before he calls time on his legendary career.
Here’s what some of the fans had to say about the potential of Brooks vs Johnson at flyweight:
