BJJ wizard Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida proved he can outgrapple anyone at any size or capacity outside the gym - even on top of the ocean.
In a new video ONE Championship released this week, the heavyweight contender was seen out grappling his training partner on board a boat.
The caption on Instagram read:
“Tossed 'em 😂"

The 32-year-old superstar looks sharp and ready for another match this year. Following a massive round-one victory over Belarusian heavy hitter Kirill Grishenko last August, Alemeida has been itching to get back into action.
At the moment, Almeida is undefeated with a stellar record of four straight wins and no losses. Not many people believed he would get this far into the game, or become a serious contender for the belt, after transitioning from jiu-jitsu to MMA two years ago.
Perhaps just one fight away from achieving his goal, 'Buchecha' hopes he gets his ticket to fight on the US card in Colorado this May. On his radar, there’s Iranian rising star Amir Aliakbari, who found a bit of momentum last year with two sensational back-to-back victories. If that should be the case, there will be a serious clash of styles between Almeida and Aliakbari.
Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida gunning for a spot on US card after obtaining citizenship
17-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) world champion Marcus Almeida is officially an American citizen.
The American Top Team representative was happy to reveal that he obtained dual citizenship in the US in a recent interview he had with the South China Morning Post this week.
Therefore, getting a spot to fight on the promotion’s first-US-based event at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video would be a significant milestone for Almeida’s MMA career and for the fans who have watched him grow over the years.
In an interview with SCMP MMA, Almeida said:
“I live in America for 13 years, I got my citizenship so I’m half Brazilian, half-American now let’s say. So for me, to fight in U.S. card would be awesome because I have a lot of fan base in The United States because I’ve been fighting there for so long in my jiu-jitsu career. I barely fight in Brazil since I moved to America.”
