Aung La N Sang's spectacular defense of the ONE middleweight MMA world championship against Ken Hasegawa in March 2019 is a prime example of his world-class striking abilities.

'The Burmese Python', who knocked out the Japanese star in the fifth round of their June 2018 encounter, constantly fired kicks at Hasegawa's body, which immediately bruised up.

This approach was perfect for Aung La N Sang, who also held the ONE light heavyweight MMA world championship at the time. He secured the second-round TKO finish to retain the 205-pound MMA crown.

Unfortunately for the Burmese MMA legend, Dutch megastar Reinier de Ridder ended his reigns over the middleweight and light heavyweight MMA divisions in October 2020 and April 2021, respectively.

Aung La N Sang bounced back to win four of his last five outings by way of finishes, which improved his ONE record to 15 wins in 19 bouts.

The Kill Cliff FC product will compete in a middleweight MMA bout at ONE 168: Denver on September 6 inside the Ball Arena, where he will look to hand Turkish star Shamil Erdogan his first pro defeat.

Shamil Erdogan sends ominous warning to Aung La N Sang ahead of ONE 168

Undefeated through nine pro fights, Shamil Erdogan is confident that Aung La N Sang will struggle against his wrestling prowess when they lock horns at ONE 168: Denver.

Erdogan said in an interview with ONE Championship:

"It's unlikely that he will be able to defend against my attacks. I'm on a different level in wrestling, so he should prepare to dive into deep waters."
