Daniel Dubois shocked the boxing world with a stunning knockout of Anthony Joshua in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. In a highly anticipated heavyweight clash on Sept. 21, Dubois secured a fifth-round KO, flooring Joshua with a vicious right hand to defend the IBF title.

The fight began with Dubois immediately taking control, pressing forward behind a powerful jab. Joshua struggled to find his rhythm and was dropped by a massive overhand right at the end of the first round. Though Joshua barely survived, it set the tone for the fight.

In Round 2, Dubois kept the pressure on, landing combinations that left Joshua reeling. Despite Joshua's attempts to regain his footing, Dubois continued to land heavy shots. In Round 3, Joshua was knocked down again – this time by a left hand – but the referee missed it. Joshua survived another knockdown in Round 4, but he was clearly in serious trouble.

In the fifth round, Joshua briefly turned the tide with a hard uppercut that hurt Dubois. However, the comeback was short-lived as Dubois quickly responded with a devastating right hand, dropping Joshua for the final time. Joshua couldn’t beat the count, and Dubois was declared the winner at 0:59 of the frame.

Following the win, Dubois reflected on his victory, saying:

“Are you not entertained?... Thank you very much, you know. It’s been a long journey. I’m grateful to be in this position... I’ve just been on a roller-coaster ride and this is my time. It’s my redemption story. I’m not going to stop until I reach my potential.”

Joshua, visibly disappointed, praised Dubois for his performance and said:

"Credit to him and his team. We rolled the dice at success and we came up short... We rolled the dice at success and we came up short, [but] we’ll keep rolling the dice... I had a sharp opponent, a fast opponent. And secondly a lot of mistakes on my end. But that’s the game. As p*ssed off as I am, it is what it is.” [H/t: The Guardian]
