Danny Kingad started his ONE Championship journey like a house on fire, racking up three straght victories all in convicing fashion. One of those came at the expense of fellow Filipino Eugene Tuquero, whom he defeated by submission in the opening round.
The two met on Dec. 2, 2016 at ONE: Age of Domination in Manila in what was the second outing of 'The King' in the promotion. He was immediately on top of things, showcasing his diverse skill set, highlighted by a nifty transition early that saw him use his body roundhouse kick into a sweep of Tuquero.
ONE relived that moment in a recent Instagram video post to channel focus on Kingad ahead of his scheduled match this week in Thailand.

Danny Kingad completed his domination of Toquero with a submission finish late in the opening round by way of a slick armbar.
It is the same aggressiveness and form he wants to parade in his scheduled rematch with former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Nov. 8 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The contest is part of the stacked event which will be aired live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Danny Kingad confident his camp prepared him well for return at ONE 169
Danny Kingad is confident of exacting payback on former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes in their rematch at ONE 169. He believes that he had a good camp leading up to fight night and that he is in solid shape.
The Lions Nation MMA standout spoke about it in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, highlighting how he and his team were all locked in on their preparation to have him ready for his rematch with 'Mikinho'.
Kingad said:
"Our camp has been excellent. We have been training well and my brothers are with me. We also didn't have issues with injuries or anything. We're ready."
Danny Kingad first took on Moraes in 2017 in a title clash. He lost to the then flyweight king by submission in the opening round.
Apart from exacting payback, the Filipino fighter is out to get a win at ONE 169 to propel him for a possible shot at the currently vacant ONE flyweight MMA world title.
