WATCH: Demetrious Johnson impressed with Superlek’s chaotic aggression, breaks down Rui Botelho bout

The Muay Thai mega fight between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 is now being contested in a 140-pound catchweight match after Superlek missed weight. But the bout will still headline ONE Friday Fights 34 this Friday, September 22, inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Ahead of the fight, ONE flyweight MMA world champion Demetrious Johnson made a quick breakdown of Superlek’s match with Rui Botelho in May 2019 at ONE: Warriors of Light on his YouTube channel, Mighty Gaming, and he wanted to see ‘The Kicking Machine’ employ the same strategy he used against Rodtang.

Also, the ‘Mighty Mouse’ cited the aggression and action-packed exchange of strikes as what make him more hyped to see the fight, as he said:

“This is why I'm so excited for this fight is to see you have two guys who love to bang and come forward.”

Superlek, who is the current ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion, is known to be a great technical fighter, but the 37-year-old American legend wants him to implement the same aggressive approach he used against Botelho to make it an all-out war.

“If he’s this aggressive, it’s gonna come down to who’s gonna find the angle, the right shot and who’s chin is gonna be able to sustain all that damage when he fights Rodtang…. If he fights like this against Rodtang, it’s gonna be nothing but fireworks boys, nothing but fireworks.”

Before his video ended, Johnson still picked Rodtang to get the victory over Superlek, but he expects the match to be chaotic.

“This is more kind of chaotic. It was just all over him – jumping teep kicks, jumping kicks, elbows, everything. But, I think Rodtang is going to be able to just be tougher. It’s just going to be chaotic slugfest fight. That’s what’s going to happen.”
