Zamboanga etched her name in the history books as the first Filipina mixed martial artist to claim a major championship in the sport. She defeated Alyona Rassohyna to capture the ONE interim women’s atomweight MMA world title.

‘The Menace’ showcased her striking prowess early, unleashing crisp boxing combinations that consistently found their mark on Rassohyna.

When the bout transitioned to the mat, Zamboanga displayed impeccable control, neutralizing her opponent’s attempts to gain an advantage.

In the second round, Zamboanga turned up the heat, securing a takedown and raining down heavy ground-and-pound.

Her relentless assault forced the referee to intervene, awarding her a technical knockout victory.

On the same card, Abdullaev extended his unbeaten streak with a commanding win over ONE featherweight MMA world champion Tang Kai in a non-title catchweight bout at 156.75 pounds.

The Kyrgyzstani dynamo showcased his striking brilliance and tactical versatility, overwhelming Tang from start to finish.

Abdullaev became the first fighter to take Tang down, repeatedly exploiting his advantage on the ground.

As the matchup progressed, Abdullaev’s dominance grew, culminating in a fifth-round technical knockout after a barrage of ground-and-pound left the champion defenseless.

Both Denice Zamboanga and Akbar Abdullaev now set their sights on future glory.

Zamboanga expressed her desire for a unification bout against lineal queen Stamp Fairtex, pending the latter’s recovery from a torn meniscus.

She said this during the post-event event interview:

“Definitely, [I want] Stamp [next]. I'll wait for her.”

Meanwhile, Abduallev is determined to atone for missing weight against Tang and fulfill his championship aspirations:

“It's just a matter of when he's ready. I can do it next week. I can even do it tomorrow. Really, I'm ready.”
