Last Friday, ONE Championship launched its first-ever ONE Lumpinee event, ONE Friday Fights 1, in Thailand with ground-breaking success. The inaugural fight card featured a long line-up of 10 Muay Thai matches and two MMA bouts to solidify the promotion’s weekly collaboration with the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand.
The historic event produced a spectacle of great action from start to finish, with enough knockdowns, stoppages, and full-out brawls to captivate the entire Thai audience. But of all the matches of the night, the titular showdown between defending ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and former kickboxing king Alaverdi Ramazanov was the most memorable.
The fiery matchup started as anticipated, with both fighters engaging with some quick leg kicks, feints, and punching combinations. Ramazanov scored big in the first two rounds, wobbling Nong-O with a good straight jab in the first and then delivering a strong push kick in the second round that threw Nong-O flying across the canvas.

However, Nong-O’s experience shined in the third round. Ramazanov’s strikes no longer had the same sting as they once had due to fatigue. Nong-O, bloodied but determined, ramped up the pressure with punishing combinations to the body. It took one good liver shot to the body to fold Ramazanov to his knees. He found it impossible to stand up again before the referee finished his count.

After a great start to ONE Friday Fights 1, with the incredible exchange between Nong-O and Ramazanov, fans were treated to more of the same action almost the entire night.
One honorable mention includes the all-out war between Thailand’s Saeksan Or. Kwanmuang and Australian kickboxer Tyson Harrison.
