It is the same power that Tawanchai is looking to showcase whe he battles fellow Thai superstar Superbon in their title rematch at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok. It is a redo of their tightly fought first title encounter in December last year, where the reigning featherweight Muay Thai king retained his title by majority decision.
The rematch is the headlining contest of the event, which will be aired live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Tawanchai looking forward to running it back with Superbon
Stretched to the limit in their first title encounter, Tawanchai PK Saenchai said he is looking forward to touching gloves again with Superbon at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 and come out triumphant.
He made this known in a comment he made in Superbon's Instagram post announcing the marquee showdown, expresssing his excitement and writing:
"See you, brother."
In their first encounter at ONE Friday Fights 46 on Dec. 22, 2023, Tawanchai and Superbon engaged in an epic war of attrition, that saw them at their technical best with a ferocious back-and-forth from start to finish. In the end, however, it was the defending champion who earned the judges' nod.
Superbon, however, has since bounced back from the defeat, winning back-to-back matches, including one that won him the interim featherweight kickboxing world title back in April. At ONE 170, he is out to capitalize on the opportunity to become a doible world champion with a win.
