Brave CF 69 was a joy to behold and a former UFC competitor getting knocked out in the co-main event arguably stole the show.

Darko Stosic suffered his second defeat in six fights since joining the Europe-based promotion following his release from the UFC three years ago. The Serbian has put together a respectable resume in the sport, competing in multiple promotions and showcasing his ability to knock out opponents.

Despite being the more seasoned competitor, it was Stosic who was on the wrong end of a huge uppercut and subsequent ground-and-pound as he fell to defeat against undefeated heavyweight star Shamil Gaziev.

Gaziev is a powerhouse who has a knack for finding the button and shutting off the lights on his opponents. Although he has an incredible 70% knockout rate, the heavy-hitter is also capable of finishing the fight with his grappling and has collected two submission victories in his short career.

Having only turned professional in 2020, Gaziev is still a relatively unknown entity in the sport, though he does have an extensive amateur record, with all but one of his wins in the amateurs coming by way of knockout.

Shamil Gaziev is now 2-0 in Brave CF, having scored back-to-back stoppage wins over two tough opponents. His debut with the company saw him hand Pavel Dailidko his first loss in mixed martial arts.

Darko Stosic's career in the UFC

Coming into the UFC with 13 fights under his belt and a sole loss against Jiri Prochazka, Darko Stosic quickly highlighted why he was a danger by earning a TKO victory in his octagon debut.

Riding high after getting his hand raised against Jeremy Kimball, the European then endured a rough patch that ultimately ended his time in the UFC, losing three straight fights by decision.

In a two-month time span, Stosic lost to both Devin Clark and Kennedy Nzechukwu and entered his next matchup in desperate search of a win. Coming up against future champion Jamahal Hill, the 31-year-old didn't get the nod on the judges' scorecards and was later released from his contract.
