Before Freddie Haggerty makes his highly anticipated debut on ONE Championship’s main roster, the promotion took a trip down memory lane, revisiting the breakout performance that propelled him to this moment.

The British prospect delivered a statement victory at ONE Friday Fights 91 this past December, securing his third consecutive finish under the organization’s banner by dismantling Kaoklai Chor Hapayak in a strawweight Muay Thai showdown.

He wasted no time implementing his game plan, chipping away at Kaoklai’s lead leg throughout the opening round. But in the second frame, the Englishman turned up the heat with his boxing.

A well-placed left hand against the run of play sent Kaoklai crashing to the canvas early in the round. Then, just moments before the bell, Haggerty unleashed a blistering seven-piece combination to register a second knockdown.

Sensing the finish, he cornered the Thai veteran against the ropes in round three and uncorked a right hand that landed flush on the jaw.

Though Kaoklai managed to beat the count, he was in no condition to continue, forcing the referee to wave it off at the 1:48 mark. The TKO win not only preserved Haggerty’s perfect ONE record at 3-0 but also improved his overall slate to 23-4.

Unbeknownst to Haggerty, this stellar showing would serve as his audition for ONE’s grandest stage.
