Muay Thai wunderkind Johan Ghazali lived up to his promise of returning to the win column by putting on a striking clinic against Mexican slugger Josue Cruz at ONE 168: Denver last Friday, Sept. 6, inside the Ball Arena.
Renowned for his high-octane offense, Ghazali patiently waited for the Mahmoudi Gym Mexico product to make an error, which 'Jojo' capitalized on with a left hook to the head in the dying seconds of round one for the knockout.

Ghazali's newfound commitment to letting his opponent come to him proved he had learned from his mistakes against five-time Muay Thai world champion Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat, who ended Ghazali's five-fight winning streak this past June.
With his knockout of 'Tuzo', the 17-year-old Malaysian-American earned his fifth finish under the ONE Championship banner.
Johan Ghazali admits Josue Cruz got him good early on at ONE 168: Denver
Johan Ghazali could not have concocted a better performance in his long-awaited debut in the United States at ONE 168: Denver. But early on, Josue Cruz tagged him with hard shots that ultimately left him with a bloody nose.
In the post-fight interview with ONE fighter-turned-commentator Mitch Chilson, the Rentap Muay Thai Gym star reflected on the blows he took from Cruz, saying:
"So he hit me with the good shots a couple of times. I got a bloody nose. But, you know, I keep coming. I keep coming. I don't give up. I don't give up easy. So, yeah."
