He wrote on his most recent YouTube upload:

"MIGHTY MOUSE BLACK BELT DEBUT! 'Mighty' Demetrious Johnson makes his BJJ BLACK BELT DEBUT at the 2024 IBJJF World Masters Jiu-Jitsu Championship!"

Johnson, considered one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, didn't just show his matches on his vlog.

Ever the charismatic fighter he is, Johnson caught up with archrival and former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes during the event.

Johnson, who held a BJJ brown belt for almost his entire MMA career, went undefeated in his first three matches in the tournament by taking down Richard Daniel Cortes Carter, Carlos Andres Quintero Sanchez, and Takuto Kako.

The American legend, however, fell to Tomoya Yanagisawa in his fourth match in the tournament.

Nevertheless, Johnson made a considerable impact on the BJJ scene and it won't be a surprise if he joins the 2025 tournament in his bid to become the greatest martial artist on the planet.

Demetrious Johnson sheds light on the business side of fighting

Demetrious Johnson knows an MMA career isn't just spent inside the cage and the gym.

Aware of the realities of a post-fighting life, the former UFC flyweight world champion said fighters should look at MMA not only as a sport but also as a business endeavor.

Johnson said in his conversation with inaugural ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion Angela Lee that fighters should learn to branch out and show more of their personality outside of fighting.

He explained on the MightyCast episode:

"Well, that's one thing that I learned as I got older and that's taught me...you want to be a businessman. You wanna build your brand. You can also look at the fight game as a business."
