Current number three-ranked ONE strawweight MMA contender Gustavo Balart currently rides a four-fight win streak. Included in his victim list is former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Yosuke Saruta.

'El Gladiator' proved that he was not only a one-trick pony, who relies on his strong wrestling background to beat his opponents because he showcased a much-improved striking arsenal in this fight against 'The Ninja.'

The 37-year-old Cuban even dropped Saruta several times during their match and made him bleed. Eventually, Balart secured the unanimous decision nod from the judges to record his second victory under the world's largest martial arts organization.

Following that massive win over the Japanese MMA star, Balart added two more wins to his tally by beating Alex Silva in October 2022 at ONE 162 and Hiroba Minowa in January 2024 at ONE 165, which were enough for him to book his first world title opportunity.

Balart will go up against former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks in the main event of the ONE Fight Night 24 card on August 2 for the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title, which goes down inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America on August 2 during U.S. prime time.
