WATCH: Halil Amir nearly trips Maurice Abevi's leg into pieces with nasty Suloev stretch attempt in Bangkok thriller

In April 2023, Halil Amir scored a unanimous decision win over Maurice Abevi in their lightweight MMA showdown at ONE Fight Night 9, which took place inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

One of his best moments during that match was published by ONE Championship on Instagram:

In the video, 'No Mercy' attempted a Suloev stretch and other different submission techniques. However, it failed to force a tap from the Swiss contender but helped him secure a unanimous decision victory from the judges.

It was his second successive victory in the world's largest martial arts organization after a successful debut against Russian knockout artist Timofey Nastyukhin in October 2022 at ONE on Prime Video 2.

Shamil Gasanov wary of well-rounded threat Halil Amir brings for upcoming match at ONE Fight Night 26

Amir is scheduled to face Shamil Gasanov in a featherweight MMA scrap at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6, and the latter acknowledged the threat that the former will bring in their upcoming match.

'The Cobra' explained this in an interview with ONE Championship and the threat that other contenders in the weight class, as he stated:

"Every opponent is dangerous in their own way. Halil is no exception. He brings his own set of challenges. What more can I say? He's dangerous in every area - wrestling, striking, you name it. We'll just have to figure out the right approach."
