Former ONE two-division world champion Martin Nguyen recently pulled off a dominant win at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video in Bangkok, Thailand. 'The Situ-Asian' blasted through kickboxing specialist Leonardo Casotti to earn a unanimous decision vicotry on all three scorecards.
Casotti was supposed to fight in the previous fight card, ONE Friday Fights 6. He later got the call to face Martin Nguyen in an MMA fight at the next event as a second opponent replacement.
Regardless, the Brazilian striker came to fight and gave the Vietnamese-Australian a worthy challenge.

The bout started with both men throwing the ground game out the window and exchanging leather on their feet. Midway into the first round, Nguyen connected with a monstrous overhand right that sent Casotti reeling. The shot hurt the Brazilian kickboxer so much that he initiated a takedown, which 'The Situ-Asian' easily stuffed.
After remarkably surviving, Casotti valiantly closed the gap near the end of the first round. Round two was quite even, with Nguyen finding his range with the punches while Casotti connected with his kicks.
Round three was a pivotal round as the Brazilian kickboxer started to pressure 'The Situ-Asian' with his powerful kicks. Martin Nguyen sealed the deal, though, by shooting for a takedown midway into the round and pounded his way to the end of the fight.

After two opponent changes in the last minute, Martin Nguyen still delivered a win at ONE Fight Night 7
Martin Nguyen had a chaotic fight week leading up to his outing at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium last weekend.
The former ONE featherweight and lightweight world champion was scheduled to face 13-0 Shamil Gasanov at ONE Fight Night 7. Gasanov ultimately pulled out in the last minute due to health issues. He was subsequently replaced by Kyrgyzstani fighter Razhab Shaydullaev.
Unfortunately, Shaydullaev pulled out of the fight for undisclosed reasons. ONE then made a last-minute call to convince 9-2 Brazilian kickboxer Leonardo Casotti to let go of his scheduled fight on Friday and instead fight Nguyen on Saturday.
In the pre-fight interview with ONE, Martin Nguyen addressed the entire fiasco:
"So I tried not to let myself get to the worst-case scenario situations. If I ever get into a troubled position or anything like that, I know in the back of my mind that I don't have a problem. I'm getting out. I'm not being submitted or getting taken down and then getting back up. This is why we prepare for everything when it comes to a fight."
It was quite a whirlwind week, but Nguyen managed to show up and win the fight. Regardless of the fact that he had zero time to prepare for a new opponent with a different style, 'The Situ-Asian' still managed to improvise and get his hand raised. This is why he is admired and beloved by his fans.
