Israel Adesanya's reaction videos to UFC events have become a staple for combat sports lovers. Fans enjoy Adesanya's authenticity and the sincerity of his raw emotions, which are evident anytime one of his teammates competes. Needless to say, 'The Last Stylebender' also reacted to the recently concluded UFC Fight Night 221.

Merab Dvalishvili capped off Saturday's Fight Night at The Theater at Virgin Hotels with the biggest victory of his career. He smothered Petr Yan with his wrestling pressure and maintained a pace that the Russian simply couldn't keep up with. 'The Machine' extended his win streak to 9-0 and set a new record for most takedowns attempted in a UFC fight with 49 takedowns.

Israel Adesanya was initially blown away by the exchanges and level shifts in the opening rounds, labeling the fight a "high-level" contest. Adesanya was particularly impressed by Yan's takedown defense in the first round. Midway through the fight, Adesanya dozed off and didn't wake up to offer his take on the customary post-fight analysis segment.

Watch: Israel Adesanya becomes "the hunter" for his upcoming fight against Alex Pereira

It is customary for Israel Adesanya to immerse himself in a specific theme to get into the fighting spirit. Adesanya's approach to fighting is similar to that of method acting in that he creates a compelling narrative that serves as an inspiration before and during the fight.

The former UFC middleweight champion has secured five title defenses in his dominant run since 2019. However, his reign ended at UFC 281 at the hands of kickboxing rival Alex Pereira via late TKO in the fifth round. Pereira had previously defeated Adesanya twice in kickboxing.

At UFC 287, Israel Adesanya has the opportunity to avenge his loss to Pereira and recapture the 185-pound strap. The event will take place on April 8, 2023, at the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida, United States

For the longest time, 'The Last Stylebender' felt like he had a target on his back since he was the middleweight champion. Now that he's back to being a contender, Adesanya feels like the weight has been lifted and is approaching the fight as a "hunter."

Adesanya narrated in a chilling trailer released by his apparel brand Engage:

"The game is not over. It's the hunting season. You can run, but you can't hide. The hunted now becomes the hunter."
