Israel Adesanya put on a spectacular performance in his UFC 287 title rematch against Alex Pereira on Saturday night.

Adesanya came into the fight looking to avenge his previous losses to Pereira from their GLORY Kickboxing days and regain his middleweight title, which he lost to 'Poatan' via an upset loss at UFC 281 last November.

Pereira initially found success with leg kicks and likely won the first round. However, Adesanya maintained his composure and escaped unscathed despite being backed up against the cage.

In the second round, 'The Last Styebender' landed a perfectly timed overhand right that sent Pereira crashing to the canvas, resulting in the referee stopping the fight at 4:21.

While it remains to be seen who Adesanya will face next, there's no doubt that his star continues to rise in the MMA world. This victory not only avenged his previous losses to Pereira but also cemented his position as one of the best fighters in the middleweight division thus far. He has an impressive record of 22-0, and has defeated some of the sport's biggest names.

Israel Adesanya rules out trilogy fight with Alex Pereira

Israel Adesanya made it clear during his post-fight press conference that he has no interest in having a trilogy fight with Alex Pereira. The Kiwi fighter stated that he gave Pereira a quick path to the title, and now 'Poatan' must work his way back up the ranks if he wants another shot at the belt.

"I gave him a fast track to the belt...But also, I was looking for that challenge...Now he's gotta do the hard yards if he wants to do that, but I don't think he's gonna because he'll go cause problems at 205 [lbs], and f*ck, good luck to everybody else because he's a motherf*cker to deal with."
