Filipino-American striking sensation Jackie Buntan got her world championship breakthrough last Friday during the ONE 169 card, which took place inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, where she beat Anissa Meksen via unanimous decision in their ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title showdown.
ONE Championship compiled Buntan's best moments, and they reposted recently on their Instagram account and the post's caption read:

The 27-year-old California-based fighter mostly used her boxing combinations to inflict damage against the French-Algerian icon throughout their five-round affair. Buntan's most effective attack was her left hook, which clipped Meksen multiple times.
This offensive strategy was enough for her to secure the nod from the judges and become the first-ever queen of the strawweight kickboxing division.
Apart from securing her first world title, Buntan also extended her win streak to four under the world's largest martial arts organization, dating back from her victory over Amber Kitchen in December 2022 at ONE on Prime Video 5 card.

The Boxing Works representative was confident about her chances heading into the match with 'C18,' and she shared this during her post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson.
Asked if she was confident about the result of the match going in her favor when Dom Lau was reading the official results, Buntan responded with:
"I was confident the moment I came to Bangkok a week ago. I was confident this whole camp. I knew it was mine, I just had to solidify it. I just can't believe it right now."
