Former ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title contender Jackie Buntan is one of the slickest and most dangerous women in the sport today. Despite being a Muay Thai specialist, Buntan is renowned for her wicked hand speed. Seriously, this Filipino-American kickboxer can punch you a dozen times while you blink.
Her blinding combinations have always been Buntan's calling card inside the Circle. We're positive that her next opponent, Diandra Martin, will be prepared for them. In a recent Instagram video released by ONE Championship, however, we sa Buntan trying something new:
"Create your own openings 👌 @jackiebuntan"

An interesting combination for Buntan. Her last bout was for the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title where she lost to eventual world champion Smilla Sundell. Buntan had a hard time dealing with Sundell's height and length. With Martin about the same height as Sundell, Buntan is looking to chop her down to size.
Jackie Buntan's combination here uses a slick inside-foot sweep to lower her opponent enough for a knee strike to the jaw. Fighting someone taller than her, this combo will definitely pay dividends. Add that to her lightning-fast hands, and Buntan will be a dangerous fighter on all fronts.
Jackie Buntan works with long-time friend Janet Todd in preparation for ONE Fight NIght 10
At ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5th, Jackie Buntan will be performing on US soil for the first time under the ONE Championship banner. Across the Circle from her will be Australian Muay Thai standout Diandra Martin. The two striking specialists have a common denominator in that both of their last losses were to ONE strawweight Muay Thai queen Smilla Sundell.
A win could potentially bring either fighter back into the world title conversation. In preparation for Martin, Buntan employs the help of ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion Janet Todd. The two have worked a lot together at Boxing Works in Lawndale, CA and have been instrumental in each other's fight preparations.
Todd, who fights ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen-Rodrigues in a unification bout at ONE Fight Night 8, was seen doing some kicking drills with Buntan:
Having the best set of hands in ONE Muay Thai, it certainly benefits Buntan to train with arguably the best female kicker in all of kickboxing today. All of Todd's finishes inside the Circle came by way of kicks or were brought forth by her superior kicking technique.
Look to see Jackie Buntan use her legs just as much as her hands against upcoming opponent Diandra Martin come ONE Fight Night 10.
The event broadcasts live from Broomfield, CO on May 5th and is free to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
