Before he runs it back with 'The Iron Man' at ONE 169 in Atlanta, ONE Championship is looking back at Jacob Smith's incredible first-round KO against Brazilian standout Walter Goncalves.
Returning to the Circle on Friday, November 8, Smith will look to even the score against Rodtang after the reigning and defending ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion handed him the beating of a lifetime more than two years ago at ONE 157.
Since then, Smith has shown significant improvement in his game and sent fans into a frenzy when he landed one of the biggest knockouts of 2023 at ONE Fight Night 17—KO'ing Walter Goncalves with a perfectly placed knee in the closing seconds of the opening round.

The former British Muay Thai world champion has 16 career victories to his credit and currently sits as the third-ranked contender in the flyweight Muay Thai division with a 100% finish rate.
But as impressive as Jacob Smith has looked at times, his inaugural clash with Rodtang was certainly not one of them.
Jacob Smith promises to show more IQ and skill in his rematch with Rodtang
Making his promotional debut against 'The Iron Man' in May 2022, it became very clear very quickly that Smith was outmatched.
Using a series of sharp elbows, Rodtang battered Smith through three rounds, leaving the Brit a bloody mess. Still, Smith took everything that the Thai superstar had to offer and was still standing tall when the final bell sounded.
With an opportunity at redemption, Jacob Smith plans on busting out every weapon he has against Rodtang—and then some more.
"The fans can expect everything I usually bring but with a lot more skill and a lot more IQ," Smith told the South China Morning Post.
Can Jacob Smith defy the odds and claim his first ONE world title, or will Rodtang use the Brit as his own personal punching bag once again?
