The greatest fighters cannot afford to be complacent in their past success and rely on what they have learned if they are to lay claim to being one of the all-time best and ONE kickboxing star Takeru Segawa is fully aware of it.

'The Natural Born Crusher' made his ONE Championship debut at ONE 165 earlier this year which saw him figure in an explosive kickboxing bout against ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9.

While Takeru put on a strong showing, Superlek's leg kick-heavy approach led to him winning via unanimous decision, but the loss is not deterring Takeru's hopes of ONE Championship stardom.

In a video posted by the promotion on Instagram, the Japanese megastar was seen sharpening his boxing skills with the famed Boxing Works in Southern California.

The aftermath of his highly acclaimed fight with Superlek saw Takeru having a gnarly bruise on his leg that had fans wondering whether he could fight again this year.

It appears that Takeru is very much in fighting condition now and it may only be a matter of time before it is revealed when his next foray into the Circle will be.

Fans vocal about wanting to see Takeru face Muay Thai megastar

With the Team Vasileus product seemingly preparing for a fight, ONE Championship recently asked fans on Instagram whom Takeru's next fight should be against, and the general consensus was ONE flyweight Muay Thai world titlist Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Check out the fans' responses below:

"@rodtang_jitmuangnon vs @k1takeru best fight 💯🔥"
"@rodtang_jitmuangnon vs @k1takeru would be fireworks in kickboxing🔥"
"@rodtang_jitmuangnon that's it!"

For those not in the know, Rodtang was supposed to be Takeru's original opponent at ONE 165 but was ultimately shunted off the card due to an untimely injury to his left hand.
