Veteran Japanese kickboxer Masaaki Noiri scored his first victory in ONE Championship in devastating fashion, breaking the right leg of Shakir Al-Tekreeti on his way to a knockout victory in their featherweight kickboxing clash at ONE 170 on Jan. 24.
The destructive finish came early in the second round, where the former two-division K-1 champion followed up on a nasty leg kick late in the opening frame, which had his opponent limping after and scored as a knockdown, with another powerful salvo that ended the fight for the Iraqi fighter.
It was later confirmed that Al-Tekreeti suffered a broken leg. ONE Championship shared a video clip on Instagram of how Noiri completed the impressive win.

The win was a breakthrough victory for Masaaki Noiri in ONE Championship after losing in his first two matches in the promotion last year. For his part, Al-Tekreeti dropped his second straight match by knockout after opening his ONE journey with a win. He is expected to be out for a while because of the injury he sustained.

The match between Masaaki Noiri and Shakir Al-Tekreeti was the lone kickboxing offering at ONE 170 and turned out to be eventful with the devastating finish that the Japanese star fashioned.
It was a late-notice addition to ONE Championship's first numbered event for the 2025 season, which also marked the return of the promotion to the Impact Arena in Bangkok for the second straight year.
The win at ONE 170 put Noiri back on track in his push to vie for a world title down the line, something he made known when he joined ONE last year after a successful campaign at K-1.
Masaaki Noiri is hoping that the impressive KO win he had over Al-Tekreeti will earn him consideration for a spot in the fight card for the promotion's scheduled live event in Japan -- ONE 172 -- in March.
