WATCH: Jarred Brooks steps on the boosters in dominant ONE Championship debut against Lito Adiwang in Singapore

ONE Championship's strawweight MMA division is arguably the most stacked in the promotion and one of its biggest names is Jarred Brooks.

Currently ranked as the No. 1 fighter has been in the winner's circle four times with his promotional debut in November 2021 against Filipino strawweight standout Lito Adiwang being a sign of things to come.

'Thunder Kid' aimed to catch the wrestling-heavy Brooks with the big knockout shot that he has become famous for, but 'The Monkey God' knew better than to let his grappling advantage go to waste and locked Adiwang in an arm-triangle choke to put him away midway through round two.

Brooks would go on a three-fight winning streak to challenge then-ONE strawweight MMA world titlist Joshua Pacio in front of his home crowd in Manila, Philippines in December 2022 whom he dethroned via unanimous decision.

Jarred Brooks will fight for interim ONE strawweight MMA world title

The Mash Fight Team product is currently on a two-fight losing streak which saw him drop the strawweight MMA world title back to Pacio via an unfortunate disqualification at ONE 166 this past March.

However, Brooks has an opportunity to return to his winning ways very soon as he takes on No. 3-ranked Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2 inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Additionally, the bout also has the added stakes of it being an interim ONE strawweight MMA world title clash in light of Pacio's ACL tear.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
